The Charity Marathon...

Me and my friends have decided to pay a visit to the charity homes during the recent "chap goh Mei" since we miss our annual charity Christmas party this year.

This is how it all started... Follow us through on our journey...

We received draws of charity homes in ang pow packets during Asia Work Chinese New Year gathering. Thank you Asia Work for giving us the opportunity to do good deeds.. The moment we receive the homes info, we started a fund raising. Within a short period of 3 days we manage to raise RM1350 (thank you to all the generous donors)

We went for a shopping galore in NSK Kuchai Lama to buy daily groceries for the homes. I must say, the service level for NSK was pretty good. Their staff was friendly and helpful. Keep up the good service

The stuffs that we bought... Luckily we got a Hilux to transport all the stuff..

We arrive at Ti-Ratana home in Salak South. I have always heard of this home but never really been here before. In this home, there is more than 120 children and about 100 old folks. Really a big family under one roof.

We unload our donation stuffs at the admin office while we wait for them to count and keep record before we proceed for a guided visit of the vicinity.

The moment we arrive, we were greeted by happy and adorable children. All eager to meet us. Well of course we were under attack by them (coz we were holding lollipop meant for them. But they were very polite and actually ask if they could have it)

Finally the caretaker explain to the children the reason to lining up In queue so that every will have their share. The children greeted us in groups in mandarin "gong xi fa Cai, Shen Ti jiang Kang. Sheh Sheh Kor-Kor and jie-jie". It was so touching

Happy and excited children enjoying their lollipop and at the same time crave for attention (all of them wanted us to carry them). How can we resist.. They are so cute and innocent.

Some of them even teaches my friend how to sing their song and wanted to share their candy with us.

They even know that they need to wash their hand after finishing with their lollipop. Trust me ..I have never been able to finish a lollipop by myself and these kids here can really finish them up..

The children that we visited are aged between 2months old - 11 years old. The older children are at another wing of the home.

After spending an hour with them, we left with a heavy Heart. Promising to come back and visit them. During the drive home, I keep thinking...how can some parents are so cruel. How can they leave behind such cute and adorable child. I mean for the mom, they actually gone through 10 months of pregnancy and child labor. How could they do it... Don't they feel their heart tear during the separation?are they such cold hearted? ..

Nevertheless, I must praise and thanks Ti-Ratana administrator, caretakers and volunteers for the times, love and patience show to the children and the old folks. Without them, the children and old folks will be so lost and who knows what could befall to them.
